What's been your biggest achievement of the year?
I am really proud to announce that I've been working on a new A-lusion concept called: Out in The Open. I started preparing this new project in the summer of this year so it took me a few months. So my biggest achievement is producing a lot of new music and preparing this new digital album series. Besides this I'm also really proud on all the Second Identity bookings and productions I did this year together with my man Scope DJ. It's always a great feeling to get a crowd moving and to enjoy people with your music.
What moments will you never forget?
There are a few moments each year. This year I can name: playing on a rainy DefQon.1, playing in snowy Sweden, Austria, the crazy UK and rocking the mainstages of parties like Last World, The Qontinent, etc. Another memorable moment was the "last" scheduled liveact of Second Identity on a party called Stereo Outdoor. After one and a half years touring we decided to focus on our solo names for the coming time.
Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?
I think the Atmozfears really have potential as producers. They made a remix of my older track "4 Elementz" and I really love the result. Watch out for these guys.
Who's been the artist of the year for you?
I think one of the guys that showed his true potential this year, is Ran-D. I've known him since when we both still used "tracker based" software many many years ago. It's great to see how he developed in the last few years to finally rock all the big mainstages this year! Besides him, my man Zatox did an amazing job with his sets and productions. Much respect for him because the success didn't really get to him and he always remained friendly and open to everybody. There is a track of Zatox in every set I played!
What's been your favourite label of the year?
I don't really think in labels anymore. But of course there are a few labels who definately provided some great tracks again this year like Scantraxx, Fusion, DMW and the Saifam group.
What do you think has been the best track of the year?
The track I played most this year, is obviously my most favourite track. This is A-lusion - Don't Wanna Know. I'm really happy with that production as it makes people feel good, dance to the max and fills up the dancefloor really nice.
What's been your favourite event of the year?
This years Qlimax edition was really good. Both musically and showwise. This years edition was great again!
What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?
This question has been breaking my head for the last 10 minutes and to be honest... I can't really think of anything. I guess there were no blunders or mistakes this year! Let's hope there will be some good laughs on the job next year.
What do you have planned for the next year?
As I said I launched a new concept called "Out in The Open". With this digital mini album concept, I will present a constant flow of creative and energetic tracks. A-lusion is growing stonger by the day again! I've already finished quite a few tracks and in the meantime I will be working even harder in the studio to bring the clubs, festivals and other events the best new A-lusion music possible. Check www.outintheopen.nl or www.a-lusion.com for more information on the concept.
