My Year In Hard Dance

2007 has been the biggest year for me yet. After only been into the hard dance scene as a die hard for 3 strong years, it's just grown more and more for me.
After coming from just a musician to a DJ/Music producer of hard dance music in 2 years is such a successful career move in my life. It's the one goal I set out to achieve and is finally paying off. I have built a good understanding of the music I appreciate and the fans that follow me in everything I've achieved. I have gained a residency at Mayhem, the number one hard dance event in the north east, not to mention being resident for the awesome Native NE. I have firmly grasped a position as one of the fantastic Goodgreefs future floor fillers for 2 years now and played some awesome events thanks to Goodgreef boys.
What tune has defined this year in hard dance for you?
Now this is a close one! The track I would say which has defined the most for me this year has got to be Schranz & Tings by Dark by Design. After hearing this bad boy straight out the studio it sounded ill! With the twisted piano melody grinding on your ears but keeping that subtle sound of techno in a tougher grittier way, it was just put together so well! And along side my self after hearing the likes of Alex Kidd & Kutski thrash it out at nearly every Major Hard Dance event of the year this summer, its really put production to the test from the UK based Whizzkid. Behind that I would say the Organ Donors with their twisted mix of BK's such a feeling. That's just another spectacular piece of work from the boys that has had the dance floors going ballistic for me!!
What has been your biggest achievement of the year?
The biggest achievement this year for me I would say was having the honour of playing at my first festival 'Kiddstock' Now that was an awesome experience and totally different to a club with everyone just going crazy!! I was absolutely exhausted by the end of it all and had to make a sly exit off with Vinylgroover and Kym Ayres not far behind me as we were all booked to play for Mayhem down in Middlesbrough! Another awesome achievement was getting my first collaboration release ready for 2008 with Dark by Design. It's been awesome working with Gaz in the studio as we have an input from 2 sides. Musical and Technical which we'v created an awesome sound and some blinding tracks!
What moments in the last year will you always remember?
The moments in the last year I will always remember will be obviously playing my first festival Kiddstock and my first time playing at Sundissential v.s Goodgreefs main room at Evolution in Leeds. That was some unbelievable sound system kitted out in there and the crowd were fantastic! 'Up for out!!' Just how I like it. Another moment that I will always remember was teaming up with a new fresh producer on the scene 'Novacaine' After his massive track with Alex Kidd 'Wat Da Fuck' creating a monstrous stir on dance floors this year, we teamed up for 3 months of hard work to go LIVE at Mayhem. Lots of money, lots of kit! But paid off to be well worth it and gave some fans the jaw drop as if they'd never seen anything like it before!! Haha
What exciting things do you have planned for next year?
Studio, studio, studio!! As much production work as possible is all I can say aside playing out anywhere and everywhere. I would really like to get playing out of the UK in 2008 as I've heard the experience is totally phenomenal. Other than that just having a damn good time having it large the way us Clubbers do best!
