What's been your biggest achievement of the year?
Merging Siren Trax my label with SUBHZ.COM building the new site & studio for that, moving house and losing so many phones that Vodafone say I'm uninsurable. I've also just released SAVAGE WINTER - my first compilation of the year (available at subhz.com - sorry!)
What moments will you never forget?
The last Tidy Weekender was memorable to say the least. I think I've only ever missed one and I normally stay off site but seeing as it was the last ever one I decided to make the most of it and stayed in a chalet. I played a 90% Tidy classics set and was nearly in tears the whole way through my slot. I ended up in a Santa onesie djing in Amber D's chalet after that for about 6 hours...If you can't beat em...
Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?
In2ition
Who's been the artist of the year for you?
I really believe in In2ition. I also love Luca Antolini, Organ Donors are inspiring and BK is my brother from another mother...When I'm not listening to Hard Dance, I love JMajik & Wickaman, Bassline Smith, Nero & James Blake
What's been your favourite label of the year?
Riot, Traffic, United Styles Siren Trax & SubHZ
What do you think has been the best track of the year?
I love the old school 90's piano trend, so I'm going to say Leon Clarke -Big Dee (set me free) I defy anyone not to get goose bumps...
What's been your favourite event of the year?
The Big Snow Festival in Andorra. Give me snow, world class acts, great company & I'm in heaven. I played with Kissy Sell Out, Wretch 32 and Example. BK & I hosted our own night it was immense. Eddy Temple Morris & I played at a freestyle snow park and after 2 glasses of red wine I was riding the jumps with no poles and getting air. I wouldn't believe it myself if I hadn't seen the photos...
What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?
Not sure if this is a funny story or just a good blag. I was late for a flight to Ibiza so parked in the short term car park. 4 days later when I landed I put my ticket in the machine to be presented with a £189.00 fee. I decided to pay with my card on exit, but when I got to my car the battery was flat. The on site mechanic was an Aussie and we hit it off. When he got me going I told him that my ticket would prob have expired by now and to save me the bother of walking back to the terminal and paying the excess would he let me out with his card. He did so I got out for free and what was looking like the worst day ever turned out to be a Brucie bonus..
What do you have planned for the next year?
I've teamed my Siren Trax label up with SUBHZ.COM - over the past 6 months there's been a lot of hard work on my partner's side building the new studio from scratch and developing the site & we're finally up and running. I'm looking to sign & develop some new talent in 2012 who stand out, so any budding producers get in touch...
