A*S*Y*S - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

I would say that not just in the past 12 month, but in general I am very proud to be still an important part of the hard dance scene since I started 1996! I have seen a lot projects coming and going and to be still being a creative & enthusiastic part overall is something I do enjoy a lot!

What moments will you never forget?

Uhm well - I had three gigs to play from a Thursday to Saturday last March. A round trip from Frankfurt (my hometown) to Stockholm (Monday Bar cruise) to Turku, further to Copenhagen, same day further to Seattle, next morning to Toronto and next day (Sunday) back home to Frankfurt. Nothing really special soooo far, but I was dead sick the Wednesday before with 40 degree fever in bed and never thought I would really be able to play that tour. I took every medicine pill I got get and just made it save back. It was my personal "Acid Nightmare" I had to go through haha but def worth it :D

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

This is again "Kidd Kaos" because this guy does have an amazing output on a high level. But maybe he is not to count to the newcomers anymore, but more to the established now. Another guy I just discovered is "Dart Rayne" who does create nice dark, extremely well balanced productions and also has an impressing output level.

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

That's hard to say, coz there is no artist I do look up to completely. I love o lot of different stuff from many different genres..... Like the harder edged dirty stuff from Deadmau5 or Wolfgang Gartner. In the Hard Dance Genre I still love DJ Scot Project, Kamui and recently a young guy from the Ukraine "Dart Rayne".

What's been your favourite label of the year?

I don't have one atm!

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

It is not released yet and I am just about to finish a remix for it. The track is called "I love music" from Robbie Magura (which was produced by Vincet form Thilo & Evanti) and this tune has everything I love. For me the best production since ages in that genre!

What's been your favourite event of the year?

It was raining cats & dogs that day, but I loved the "Planet Love" festival this year in Dublin Perfect, enthusiastic vibe amongst the crowd :D

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

After playing at Parklife near Glasgow this year I had to go back with the driver to Edinburgh airport. It was 6:16 in the morning and I was fallen asleep in the car. I woke up and I was a lil surprised that the driver already dropped me out of the car at the airport, because I thought that we were not very long driving. Well inside the airport at the ticket check slight upfront the security check an officer asked me: "You are leaving from Edinburgh?" I said: "Yes of course" and he said. Ok but you are in Glasgow :)))))))) Please don't ask me regarding the color of my face ......It might be a funny story, but for me it was more embarrassing ;)

What do you have planned for the next year?

Oh only big things of course ;) First I am going to increase the output level on "Fe Records" and after the remake of Acid Headcracker I will come up with another new A*S*Y*S single in March! Touring wise I hopefully will be able to travel around the world like I did this year!
