BeXta - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

Releasing the "Essential BeXta Collection" - being a collection of remixes and collabs I've done since I started producing back in 1995 right up to this year!

What moments will you never forget?

There's probably a fair few good moments from the last 12 months. I enjoyed doing a full national tour in Oz, I've really enjoyed all the remixing this year too. The radio show airing on di.fm and starting up my booking agency.. I think the year as a whole has been a memorable one!

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

I have loved seeing some of the Aussie producers rise to the top this year - Bioweapon, Josh Lang, Chris Dynasty, Dj Husband etc. It has really been a year for them!

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

Mike Steventon has been fantastic this year, with everything he has release a sure thing. Although Organ Donors are also up there for me, I love their productions so much!

What's been your favourite label of the year?

Digitally Infected. Without doubt.

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

ok there's 2... Bassturbation - ASYS (organ Donors remix) and right at the end of the year, Andrea Montorsi's remix of Are Am Eye.

What's been your favourite event of the year?

Defqon in Sydney.

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

Being stuck at Gold Coast airport with bad weather, when flying to Hobart, and finding 2 other dj's in the same situation. We all ended up stuck at the Goldy with no flights in or out, and missed our gigs. Anyone who knows those 2 towns knows how unlikely it is to have 3 dj's on the same flights! Hobart would have been very quiet that night!!

What do you have planned for the next year?

First off is the release of the Hard Electrik compilation with Scott Atrill, Andrea Montorsi and some other dj's from around the Globe. I am so hoping to get to the UK this year too. And lots of productions, and remixes. And lots and lots of touring!!
