BK - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

From a production side probably crossing genres with my Black Russian mix if La roux. This was supported heavily by Tiesto ext and has opened some doors to remixing some great tunes. As well as this I have just completed a new album with Anne savage with some great fresh sounding material. Also taking Riot to the next level. 2009has seen us take up a residency at the mighty Matter @ the o2 London. The venue is the easily one of the best venues in the world and we have had some massive shows and line ups there. So all in all a great year!

What moments will you never forget?

On a good tip looking over the balcony at Matter and seeing 2500 people going nuts at our second party. We have doubled in size in 2009 and seeing everyone appreciating all the hard work is amazing. On a bad tip my car engine cutting out while tearing down the fast lane of the M1 to a gig. I lost the power steering as well and had to roll across the other lanes to get to the hard shoulder. I needed new pants after that.

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

Not so much HD but Jordan suckly has been doing some good bits

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

Kamui have had some great stuff but Savage & lashes has also been on form this year

What's been your favourite label of the year?

Riot

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

Trying not to be biased but my remix of the kidd stock theme was a massive recored for me

What's been your favourite event of the year?

Riot@matter even the tidy boys said this was there best club gig to date

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

Mmm looking back probably panicking I had lost the whole new albums worth of work. When I turned on the computer and the whole thing was blank.. I hadn't backed up anything and had shed loads of post its everywhere to remind me to do it. It was 2 hours later when the guys in the studio told me they had swapped my computer over with the spare on for a laugh while I was getting lunch. I Twats :)

What do you have planned for the next year?

Loads coming up in 2010. The release of Anne savages and myself collaboration album and a tour to go with it. Riot will also be at some great festivals including Run to the sun and the Big snow festival and Ibiza as well as back at Matter as well as gigs in Russia, singapore, Australier, etonia to name a few. Cant wait its going to be a top year!
