My Year In Hard Dance

What tune has defined this year in hard dance for you?

This one's very difficult as not only have we produced a lot of tunes for our sets this year (around 90% of everything we play) but we've picked up some real gems from other producers. If we had to choose one though, it would probably be our remix of Liam B's Jam Master which we've just released on our Ourstyle label. We started playing the original and liked it so much we asked to license it and do our own version. It gets a massive reaction every time and we always get a lot of requests for it. Due to Amato's recent liquidation it's currently not on sale so there's only about 200 copies out there, but it'll get re-released now in the New Year.

What has been your biggest achievement of the year?

Definitely getting the opportunity to play Slammin' Vinyl's WestFest main arena. This is without doubt one of our favourite events every year. We've been lucky enough to host the Bionic arena there 3 years in a row now and although we stepped in last minute on the main stage last year to cover for Mark EG who couldn't make it, this year we were billed on the flyer for the main arena and got given a great set time (thank you Grant), so by the time we went on all our supporters and friends were already in there waiting. The atmosphere from the introduction onwards gave us one of the best experiences we've ever had in our DJ'ing career. It absolutely made the hair on our arms stand on end for almost the entire set!

What moments in the last year will you always remember?

Well there's WestFest as mentioned above, and also we couldn't possibly forget Swansea's very own festival, Escape Into The Park. Playing to a packed arena crammed full of your home crowd, many of whom you know is unbelievable. We're not ashamed to admit it's a very emotional experience and very overwhelming. To see the support you have and to hear the crowd cheer louder than you've ever heard any crowd cheer before just makes it an unforgettable moment, year after year.

What exciting things do you have planned for next year?

Aside from more releases of tunes, hopefully you'll see us playing abroad more. This year we've become good friends with Steve Hill, who after hearing our tracks and playing for us has decided he wants to work closely with us. Luckily for us this means he's helping us with his contacts abroad, so we should be touring Australia, South Africa, Canada, Asia, plus more next year. We've also been booked by Q Dance for their massive Q Base event next year, this already guarantee's to be one of the forthcoming highlights of next year. Also the last 6 months we've played in more new areas and venues than ever before, so if we haven't been to your town or city yet, then there's a good chance that next year we'll be visiting ;)
