Calum J - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

I have reached a lot of personal goals in the last 12 months so it would be too hard for me to pick one, so I will pick two. I would say that the top two were playing for the first time at The Arches in Glasgow, this is any Scottish DJ's dream so it was really important for me to play there, and to play at The Hard Dance Awards in Leicester. I was really happy with these two achievements.

What moments will you never forget?

I have had a lot of unforgettable moments in the last 12 months but I would have to say playing the closing set at The Arches was something I will never forget. I would say every single Infexious that has been on in the last 12 months, but I have forgotten all of those because they always turn into mad weekends haha

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

Artists such as Solutio and the I's, Tartaros and Arboza have all really impressed me this year.

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

My top artists this year would have to be B-Front, Crypsis, Ran-D, Chris One, Digital Punk, The R3belz and Adaro

What's been your favourite label of the year?

My favourite label has to be TiLLT! Records, other labels such as A2 Records and Theracords have also been brilliant, and of course Fusion is always up there at the top.

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

Chris One - Psycho

What's been your favourite event of the year?

The best event I have played at would have to be every Infexious, every booking we have had this year, as well as Scotland's own talent, has absolutely smashed it. Every event we have put on has had such a great atmosphere and I really am proud to be a resident at such a great night. The best event I have attended as a clubber would have to be Decibel, it was spectacular and the Loudness stage was incredible, seeing the Gunz for Hire live act for the first time was really great. This years edition of Qlimax was also brilliant!

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

Funny things seem to happen to me and my mates a lot but I think the funniest thing that has happened to me personally would be running about a hotel in Nijmegen naked to the horror of my girlfriend haha

What do you have planned for the next year?

In the next 12 months I want to get my productions out there and continue growing as an artist. Make sure you keep an eye out for me ;)
