Chris Dynasty - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

It would have to be my tracks this year, I think they have improved so much. I had 'Subwayz' top the hard dance charts aswell as several others that made the top 10. Having my tracks played by pretty much all my favorite producers. Getting a slot on the hard dance channel of di.fm once amonth. Also finishing off/starting the year with my first interstate gig on a crusie in Sydney Harbor on NYD. Its been a fantastic year.

What moments will you never forget?

All the great shows this year. The international support gigs, the locals, the birthdays, the bush doofs & the house partys. All the people ive worked with this year that have helped me develop my career. Soul-T(PHD), St Luke(3D) & Ugly(HSD) for there continued support with gigs. Louk & Nomad for there endless knowledge and help with bringing my label up to speed with promotion & distribution. Gotta thank Hardforze, Pred, Dj eM & Busho for their help with tunes. Also everyone who has supported and played my tracks this year. Your all champions in my book!

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

Josh Lang, Nuff said.

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

I couldn't pick one tbh. But i would say all the artists coming though in Australia at the moment. I think we have such a great scene here... We actually have more hard dance producers than most other places in the world. For the litte amount of punters we have who know what hard dance music is.

What's been your favourite label of the year?

Every label who has strived for quality not quantity.

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

A*S*Y*S - Bassturbation , the whole video clip package really made it for me. It was one of those tracks that i couldnt stop listening to. Shows a good track imo.

What's been your favourite event of the year?

I think DNA's opening night in Melbourne was the best. It was a totally new concept for Melbourne that really worked. A whole night of just Victorian hard dance producers. It was epic.

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

Realising how notorious a dj bag is. Coming back from playing in Melbourne and wanting to visit some friends at one of the local commercial clubs and pretending i was playing there to the bouncer. Straight through, no questions asked & $25 richer. Win!

What do you have planned for the next year?

Seeing as 2011 was really my first year producing hard dance and its been so great. Im going to continue with it. I have great things planned for my label 'Tranztek Recordings' in 2012 so look out for that. A few more interstate gigs would be nice, a Defqon 1 Aus debut would be all time. Some tracks on compilations & hopefully a publisher. But apart from that just have fun doing it. :D
