Costa Pantazis - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

Probably seeing my label Metamorph Recordings grow within such a short space of time. The label has received such wide support with it's releases and Criostasis has done very well with the sub-label Hyperdrive also. It's been a great year, and I am fortunate to work with such great artists on these label.

What moments will you never forget?

Phil Reynolds giving me his consent to remix and re-release his Digital Creation album through Metamorph Recordings in 2012. It's a project me and several other artists are working on now and we are defiantly looking forward to seeing it's release next year.

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

One of my favourite newcomers is Unit 13. They’re two lads who I think are going to be massive next year. Criostasis' collaborations with newcomer Clayfacer this year have produced great results and remixes and I hope to see these two work together more often.

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

Technikal

What's been your favourite label of the year?

Pandemic Digital and Fired Up Recordings have really come through this year and are constantly getting better and better with each release. Atmosphere Recordings is another - really pushing that old-skool European hard trance sound. Long runners Presence, Masif, Technikal, Outbreak and Edison Factor still producing the goods as far as I'm concerned.

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

Have to be bias really and say my collaboration with Steve Hill & Technikal 'Gamemaster.' Really pleased to see this finally released and doing so well. Defiantly looking forward to working with them again in the near future.

What's been your favourite event of the year?

Frantic's events in London always do the business for me and provide well planned events and great nights out. The annual event held at Koko, Camden is always the best. Several new events and existing brands are currently taking as well which will be hosting various events throughout 2012 including Glowball, Bioshokk and Vinyl Impact so it should be another great year for hard dance.

What do you have planned for the next year?

Start work on my own album project. Re-brand and restart Metamorph Recordings with a whole host of new releases from April onwards. Expect to see several big names and newcomers putting in an appearance; Technikal, Energy Syndicate, Unit 13, Ben Stevens, Lee Walls & Ashley Waters, Phil Reynolds, Rodi Style, NG Rezonance, Helen G & Cornthwaite alongside plenty of newcomers including DJ Yorrin, On NRG, C&D Project and many more.
