Dj Thera - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

I am really happy with my closing set at the April edition of Loudness at the Maassilo in Rotterdam. It doesn't happen that often that I get goosebumps during a set, but it happened a lot during this set! What a party! Furtermore I'm quite proud that I had the honour of creating the anthem for Ground Zero Festival, but what was even more amazing that with Theracords, we hosted our own area there!

What moments will you never forget?

This year has been so amazing and I can name tons of things that I definitely will never forget! Playing at parties like The Qontinent, Ground Zero Festival, Dance Valley, Loudness, Dreamfields, Pleasure Island, XXlerator, but also to produce and share the music I love as a fulltime job is just simply epic! With working hard and believing in your dreams, anything can be possible!

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

Definitely Phrantic. He just turned 18 this year, but he has been releasing on Theracords since he was 15. Every year he is getting better and better and this year he totally impressed me big time! Not only did he produced amazing tracks but also a huge amount of them and I dont really see him stopping soon haha!

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

It would be weird for me not to name Geck-o here. The most diverse artist around in the hard dance scene and in my opion also one of the best producers around.

What's been your favourite label of the year?

The issue with running your own labels and only release what I really love I can only name Theracords and Therabyte, surprizing huh!

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

Obviously I won't name a track of myself, but I actually want to name three tracks that I have been blasting out there like crazy: Phrantic - Road Warrior, Wavolizer - Done and Catatonic Overload - Goddamn

What's been your favourite event of the year?

Impossible to name since I've played at loads of amazing events! However I do want to mention Fusion Of Dance Indoor. This party was really planned to perfection! Amazing work!

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

Very difficult question since I always have my happy face on and for some reason there are always funny things happening! Seeing other artists do rollovers, annoying others while being asleep, every time me and/or Geck-o played his track 2-1, you name it!

What do you have planned for the next year?

Definitely to produce a lot of diverse tracks again, trying to get more Theracords related events out there, for instance through hosting more areas, actually basically to get our artists and of course myself out there as much as possible to let people experience our music
