What tune has defined this year in hard dance for you?
BK & Vinylgroover 'Microwave' has really been the tune that's shook up my sets the most this year. That super-evil saw sound has been scaring and delighting crowds in equal measure. Massive and such a great way to introduce this double act as I know they've got much more up their sleeve!
What has been your biggest achievement of the year?
2007 has been such a funny year in terms of the scene it's been great to make it through with a full DJ diary having played some really great events and been able to keep the record bag stocked up with brilliant tunes. Riot! Recordings has merged with Traffic and that's going to have been a great thing for the scene as there's so much amazing music to come! Releasing the BK artist album and getting such great reactions has also been a highlight for me.
What moments in the last year will you always remember?
The mud at Glade Festival! The sunshine in Ibiza! The rain at Q Base in Germany! 2007 is the year the weather went sideways. The gig that I think I'll always remember though was Detox near Newcastle; 400 loony Geordies in an outward bound hostel in the middle of no-where. It was like Byker Grove on acid! I'd DJed in the conservatory with the woman who ran the centre turning the power on and off in a desperate effort to try and stop the carnage! Total brilliant chaos! Hosting the first official afterparty at Tidy Weekender was incredible too – props to Kieran and the team for creating an event that really pulls the scene together.
What exciting things do you have planned for next year?
I'm touring Japan with Torture Garden who have been really kind to let me rock their massive fetish raves for the last few years. Dressing up as a sheik to rock an arena full of leather clad sex freaks is the most fun you can have on the decks. There's lots of fun to be had off the decks too of course!
