What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

Probably getting my studio business to the point where it pays for itself and being able to concentrate more on my own productions instead of working on other peoples. Done lots of recording and tuition in 2011 for people - theres only so much of that you can do! Got lots of new equipment (again!) this year - Virus TI and a shedload of mastering gear.

What moments will you never forget?

Hearing a track of mine played at a big charity event earlier this year - hopefully more of this to follow!

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

Robbie Muir with Bodyrock this year, great track! Hoping to see more good things from him in 2012.

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

Ilogik has never failed to disappoint though seems have have been quiet recently. His sets always have so much energy to them and the elasticman platinum stuff is top notch.

What's been your favourite label of the year?

Toolbox has always been a firm favorite along with Elasticman and theres been some great tracks out on Stereodays as well. Insomniacz Digital is firing out some great stuff along with BW Big Boogies as well.

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

tough one, been plenty to pick from this year, loads of good stuff at the moment... as mentioned Bodyrock, also James Devlin - Unsub, Ian M - Bang your mind, Technicals remix of Ilogiks I just cant stop, Karim - Reich...

What's been your favourite event of the year?

Not been out much this year sadly, but insomz birthday event at the Corp in Sheffield in september was a quality night. Invested in a pair of decent ear protectors this time and managed to actually get near the dj booth in the main room without the fear of my ears melting... That soundsystem is just crazy loud... Great sets from Ross Homson that night along with Glazby playing some ferocious tracks to finish with...

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

Recording an elvis impersonator in the studio one weekend, a very funny man - he appeared on Britains got talent last year. His dad goes to all his gigs with him and also came to the studio session, he's about 90 years old -crazy guy!

What do you have planned for the next year?

Promote my website and new online shop - I'm working with some singers to compile vocal sample packs, the first one is out now - www.hinotestudios.co.uk priced at a very reasonable £4.99. Theres going to be more of that coming in 2012 along with plenty of freebies as well - ad libs from different sessions which producers can use in their tracks - no more rehashing the same old vocal samples! I post quite regularly on www.bangingtunes.com so keep an eye on that for updates. I also want to make more hard house with live vocals in and do some more travelling round this year and try and get out to more events. Might get some CDJs this year and get back into DJing - never managed to make the jump from vinyl a few years back.
