My biggest achievement of the year has to be sorting my studio out, the sound and acoustics were all wrong so I spent weeks and weeks reading up on how to treat it and get rid of the problem, it was hard work but I got it done and I'm back now with a much better sound so look out for more then ever productions.
My tune of 2007 has to be the Equinox remix of Ian M v Trauma "deep swarm". Its an absolute killer on any dance floor and is coming out on my Elasticman Platinum imprint.
I have lots of stuff planned for next year. Apart from the usual DJ side of things I will be in the studio more then ever. I have got to a point now were I have put the hours in over the last 6 months and its starting to pay off in my production which is improved so much. I'm currently working on a remix of a Carl Nicholson track which is a fusion of hard house and trance, its sounding good and probably the sort of sound that I will want to be pushing in 2008.
I have made the decision to make tunes for me only purely as a dj tool. That way for people to here the tunes whey will have to come out and see my play. More like a band I suppose. I will still be putting tracks out but also at the same time not doing. Also I will be excusively remixing all my old tracks. Once I get around 13 tracks done I will be doing a very limited edition album with the tunes on them. I am still putting out vinyl for the few that want it as there still is a demand for it but I have been ripped off by so many people over the last few years. It's no wonder dance music is struggling when stuff like this is going on.It seems the people making the music are the only ones that get stitched up. At the end of the day promoters and distributors need to support the producers more than anyone as its the producers that keep the scene going. A message to all you promoters "stop thinking about money and think about getting the standard of the scene back up to where it was".
2008 will be a year for me to maybe try my hands at a few other styles of music. I love tech house so will see what I come up with.
