Kye Shand - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

My biggest achievement this year? That's a hard one... I would have to say the signing of "Don't Turn Away - Amber D, Kye Shand & Paul-F" to Awsum Records. Amber teamed up with myself and Paul-F to put together this tough sounding hard trance track... Once finished she sent it over to Andy Whitby and he has loved it. So you should see this release coming out later on in the year... :)

What moments will you never forget?

My favourite moment of this year would have to be playing in the main room for B2T V's Insomniacs @ Gatecrasher Birmingham.... That was the best event I have seen all year, and was so happy to be playing a semi-peak time set there... I advise anyone who hasn't already been there to go to the next one... its amazing!

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

That would have to be Charlie Bosh, this gut is on fire at the moment.. I have heard some of his mix's and productions recently, and I think he will definitely be a name to look out for in the near future!

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

My favourite Artist of the year has to be Matt Lee, His productions are second to non... in my eyes he is the best hard dance/hardcore producer on the planet! absolute legend!

What's been your favourite label of the year?

Hmmmmm, well I cant answer that really... I could give you 3 favourites really, those would have to be, Presence Bounce because its the main label I have been releasing my tracks on this year. Awsum for there professional approach and high standard or production, and finally 3 Phase have killed it this year on the bootleg side of things..

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

Again, that's a really hard question.. my favourite track that I have released this year would have to be "Pero - Damaged Effect (Kye Shands Addiction Remix). This was originally an instrumental track released on Electric Shandy last year, I was asked to remix the track with some fresh new vocals from Lucy Clarke. the outcome was brilliant! if you like your hard trance and have not heard this.. Take a ganders. ;) However, if it was a track that is not my own.. Then I would have to say... "Gusto's Disco Revenge - Hypersonic" that track is absolutely amazing, loads of power and a great vocal to top it off. another must have for the CD wallet!

What's been your favourite event of the year?

The best event I have been to this year was B2T V's Insomniacs @ Gatecrasher Birmingham! In my eyes its the best looking hard dance club in the UK, with the best hard dance promoters running the night! The entertainments there were the best i have seen for years topped of with an amazing line up!!!! I know they get my best large club vote!!!

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

I got a bit exited at one of my gigs in Birmingham, for some reason I decided to get up ontop of the stage platform whilst playing and managed to fall flat on my face infront of everyone! bit embarrassing, but was really funny! lol

What do you have planned for the next year?

Right then, this year we have a few nice things lined up for everyone. Firstly the launch of B2T Recording's, which will be in the earlier part of the year. Myself & Paul-F will be running this label. some of the producers we have on board so far are.. Joe Riot, Strange Dave, Live Wire, Myself & Paul-F. So look out for that.. its going to be BIG!! Also, this year you will hopefully be seeing even more big names working along side CL-Studios "STUDIO 3" And finally, I am happy to announce that I have been booked to play at Insomniacs on the 3rd of April 2010, I am over the moon about this as its always been one of my major goals from when i was a teenager.. so YAY!!!!
