What tune has defined this year in hard dance for you?
That's quite hard to say really because this year that has been a phenomenal amount of techno/tech trance and hard trance tunes that have blown my mind, so I will be awkward and pick one from each genre that has ended up being played in almost all of my sets. From techno that has to be Jimige + Oli Brand's awesome Shock Therapy. Tech Trance is definitely the DJ Choose mix of CMR - Lost Vision and for hard trance Vandall's mix of Steve Hill vs Technikal - Voodoo.
What has been your biggest achievement of the year?
Well my music/record promotion has taken off phenomenally this year with a client base that now includes Terminal 4, Massive Drive, Silicon, Joyride, Detox, Zzap, Midway, Dance Villa, Couture, Technoclub and numerous other labels. Production wise lots of DJ bookings and remix requests came in last year too which was a very positive thing and it was an honour to have my 'Shadow Of The Beast' track (which came out last week) signed to Druck who are without doubt one of my favourite labels of all time and remixed by the phenomenal Kamui, I would say that is the biggest achievement to be honest.
What moments in the last year will you always remember?
For some reason the year has pretty much blurred into one, I think thats because every day I have been working or doing something else to not take a mental note of things, but the best events this year for me definitely have to be the outdoor free parties that happened. The highlight definitely would be playing full on dark as hell, acid laden hard trance in the middle of the moors in Devon at 6 am. Loads of up for it people were there as the sun came up and this was truly something surreal. As well as this there have been many awesome nights in the South West with the likes of Atmosphere and Hindsight and some local events such as C103/The Warehouse and Premonition in plymouth providing some awesome nights too. The biggest disappointment however would have to be England failing to qualify for Euro 2008, what the fuck was that all about?!!
What exciting things do you have planned for next year?
Well I am going to make sure I catch up on sleep and have more lay-ins as I neglected sleep a little in 2007, but that's not really exciting is it. I plan to put on more events and am really excited about how those are looking, and keep on producing more techy influenced tracks as well as some hard basslined ones. Think the plan is just see where the year takes me and no doubt to clock up an unbelievable amount of miles from persuading others to travel all over the country every weekend either when I am playing or just for a night out (or on some random mish)! Though the one thing I do plan to do this year is learn to drive!
