Nick The Kid - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

It has to be picking up the Regional Hero Award at this years hard dance awards, it was so unexpected & was incredible to get such national recognition. Thanks to everyone who voted, what a start to the year!

What moments will you never forget?

I simply wont forget playing the main room for Cream's closing party @ Amnesia in Ibiza this summer alongside Eddie Halliwell, PVD & Sasha, it was an amazing experience & a real dream come true! Other great moments were being interviewed by Kutski on Radio 1 & playing for Riot @ both Matter & Ministry Of Sound this year (Both amazing venues) - it really has been an incredible 12 months!

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

There has been an abundance a great new talent within the European Hard Trance 'bracket' this year including Shock:Force, Nomad, SFM, Dean Zone & Meadowz to name a few who have all really impressed me with their awesome productions. Keep your eyes peeled in 2010 for these guys! Big things await!

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

Andrea Montorsi, Fausto, Fj Project, Luca Antolini, Wragg & Log:One, Louk have all been delivering exceptionally wicked tuneage all year!

What's been your favourite label of the year?

Atmosphere, Germantrance, Compulzion, Hindsight, Tranzlation, Acid Records

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

It's really hard to pick one so I will give you 3 tracks that have been in the wallet all year: Fausto & Tommy Pulse - Melancholika (Excessive) Kutski & Brk3 - 4th Dimension (Detox) Nick The Kid & Fj Project - Acid Storm (Tranzlation)

What's been your favourite event of the year?

Definitely Riot @ Matter back in July, never seen a UK hard dance event on that scale! Mind blowing! Also our Hindsight 10th Birthday was a very special night for me also this year!

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

I had quite a funny experience on our first Hindsight trip to Ibiza this year, Lets just say I got a bit carried away on the first night and by lunchtime the next day was parading around the pool with nothing on apart from my cacks wedged right up my ass in a mankini-esq fashion doing a semi crab / monkey type dance much to the amusement of my wayward pals. Sadly the Civil Guardia weren't as impressed when I tried to crab my pasty white Devon body back to the hotel via the main street. Somebody has a video I'm told.

What do you have planned for the next year?

I am currently working on an album with Mark EG called Hindsight 'TEN' to celebrate 10 years of my Southwest based event,It will feature the biggest hard trance anthems from the last 10 years. There will also be further releases on the Hindsight label with some big signings to look out for (Vinyl & digital), event wise there are some big Hindsight events taking place as well as some collaborations with other leading brands throughout the year. I am also taking Hindsight back to Ibiza again for 2 seperate weeks in the summer which I am really looking forward to, and finally gig wise the diary is filling up nice & steady with some great bookings in already for Atomik weekender, Frantic, Bionic, Project Storm, Octane vs Squelcher & Uprising amongst others.
