What tune has defined this year in hard dance for you?
So many massive tunes I think I'd probably say a different track each time I'm asked! But this has been huge in my sets this year and it was hand picked to be on the House of Elise the 2007 Total Recall show at Kiss. It is the mighty Captain Tinrib presents Omega 3, What we waiting for, Vox and Go remix, on Tidy. This track is so full of energy and I love the stretched vocals from Gwen Stefani they lighten the heavy filthiness of the beats. It carries raw power all through it to fire up the crowd and me every time.
What has been your biggest achievement of the year?
I have had so many incredible DJ moments this year at some of the Largest UK festivals but I would still say for me simply finding the time in my hectic work schedule to get in the studio! It's ironic really as I'm in a studio six days a week anyway but to actually get to a music production studio and start making my first track was a real highlight. I've been so weighed down with work until now it's been impossible but now I'm on it and will be every single week making new material.
What moments in the last year will you always remember?
Playing the opening set in the polysexual arena in Swansea, South Wales at Escape into the Park. When I played my first track the marquee was empty as the gates had only just been opened by security. Within half an hour to 45 minutes I had it to full capacity around 5000 plus and there was no room left for more to get in. My policy was every single person that came in would not leave and check out other tents as they would have too much fun in my tent. It worked bloody well!
What exciting things do you have planned for next year?
I will be of course keeping a close eye on my day job Kiss Lunch in the East and West of England. My House of Elise team for my Friday night House show will be on and fully at all the big events again to party, interview enjoy and report back on. I will most definitely be in Ibiza to cover Space, Manumission and other big nights personally I may be out there with Kiss. The other big thing of course will be making tracks in the studio then there the weekend DJ work. That should keep me busy. Nikki x
