What tune has defined this year in hard dance for you?
This year I've been playing a much wider variety of styles in my sets to previous years and have really diversified my sound so its pretty hard to narrow it down to just one track really. On the uk hard trance front Kevin Energy & Greg Brookman's 'Execute' has been at the front of my box all year, on the European tip I've been loving Vandell's work especially 'One Way'& his remix of Lead by example by myself and Gaz, on the tech trance tip both the shy brothers and Mark Sherry have been making some awesome tracks of late, and on the harder techno front all of the new Bootek's have been really smashing up clubs for me! A real nice mix of tracks this year which has helped keep things really interesting.
What has been your biggest achievement of the year?
Definitely all of the touring that I have done this year, I've been to some wicked places met a lot of great people and plays some awesome parties all over the place from Canada to South Africa, Germany, Australia and the States Also not to forget Nuklearpuppy, which has continued to go from strength to strength this year with many sell out events with the likes of Marco V, Lisa lashes and Scott project, we've also held our own with arena's at the Tidy Weekender in October as well as the Fantasyland's festival in November.
What moments in the last year will you always remember?
Kutski serenading me and Jason with a song on his knees in the club car park at 7am in the morning after we had drank a fair whack of black sambuca after Nuklearpuppy's 6th birthday back in May! I also wont forget round two a few months back when I lost dreadfully and put myself in a mess for a good few days! Q-base over in Germany was another defining moment of the year, as it was the first time I've been out to play a Q-Dance event and the production and the general way the event was run was outstanding! Also my latest trip to the states was a bit of a different one for me, I flew out early morning straight after Nuklearpuppy to play Earthdance, Arizona just outside of touscan, we had to drive for hours from Phoenix to get there to find over 3000 ravers in the middle of desert with all kinds of crazy snakes and lizards about the place and then just as I was about to go on the police shut it down due to Noise complaints! Grr!
What exciting things do you have planned for next year?
I've got loads of exciting new projects planned for 2008. First up we are launching our own cd store to sell cd singles of all of our labels and many of the other key players in the hard dance scene. The site is www.tranzlation.dj and will launch in the New Year selling wav quality singles on cd, professionally printed. This seems to be something that has been overlooked from the step of vinyl to mp3 and I think that a lot of dj's playing on cdj's would appreciate a printed product for they're money.
