Proteus - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

Biggest achievement for 2011 was to start new musical side project called "Skylight" with my Finnish producer friend and same time having chance to tour a lot and organize many own events in Finland. I have spent endless hours at the studio for the Skylight project which will be announced in 2012. Skylight project will be turning point in my career in musical way and it will be something different than people have normally expected from me.

What moments will you never forget?

I will never forget my gig at world's biggest beach festival Kazantip in Ukraine last summer!! The festival was out of this world!! Unbelievable experience and I highly recommend every lover of dance music to visit the festival once in their life time.

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

I have two best newcomers and they are Danny V from Poland and Substanced from Finland. Both are very young and have great good attitude and they produce amazing harder dance music! Only the sky is the limit if the feet are in the ground and the guys have strength to work as much as possible.

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

Wragg & Log:one are my favorite producers still second year in the row and also Andrea Montorsi has done amazing productions!

What's been your favourite label of the year?

My favorite label has been Digitally Infected which is run by Adam "Busho". Great label with wide range of different harder sounds. Busho is doing great work for the scene.

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

This is hard to choose but lets say "Andrea Montorsi Ft Diana J - Phantasy" as Hard Dance track and because I play dark hardcore too so "Tymon - Get Up!" as Hardcore track.

What's been your favourite event of the year?

World's biggest beach festival Kazantip in Ukraine.

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

Definitely the moment when several angry robots with water guns were chasing me and Mark EG at Kazantip festival in Ukraine last summer!!! That was crazy!! Luckily we survived and managed to play our dj sets that night!

What do you have planned for the next year?

The year will start with bang with 6 hour DJ & live set at my 17th Career Anniversary party on first week of January. After that I will release our Skylight music project and do new Proteus mix compilation in start of 2012. I will try to tour as much as possible and I will organize many own events. Also I will start to concentrate in supporting and managing Finnish DJs & artists in their own careers. It's never ending rave party....;)
