Ran-D - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

I think my biggest achievement this year must have been performing twice at Qlimax as Ran-D & Gunz For Hire. This absolutely was one of the highlights in my career so far.

What moments will you never forget?

Ofcourse Qlimax, but Decibel as well. We had our Gunz For Hire debut at Decibel this summer. We had been working for such a long time towards this moment, and it was really exciting to do this act for the first time. We didn't know what to expect and if the crowd would like our act and music. But it couldn't have gone any better, the loudness area exploded. I'm so happy with all the support we got from everyone this year. Thnx guys!!

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

He's not really a newcomer, but I really love the Code Black sound! Another few newcomers who are doing great at the moment are Arkaine and The Anarchist.

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

Headhunterz really impressed me this year with his new sound and his 'hard with style' podcast! I love playing his new tracks, he's inspired a lot of guys with a combination of hardstyle and dubstyle and his sound design is amazing.

What's been your favourite label of the year?

Not a hard choice, A2 Records!! ;-)

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

Hard to name just one track, but I really love the Alpha2 Rmx of Headhunterz & Wildstylez vs. Noisecontrollers - Tonight.

What's been your favourite event of the year?

I can't just name one, but i'll name a few of my favourites this year. Qlimax, Hard Bass, Defqon, Wish Outdoor and Decibel, all the Xxlerators and Fusion Of Dance Indoor. I could go on for a while, there were so many good party's this year!!

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

The funniest thing was probably going to the toilet at a party with my Gunz For Hire outfit and mask on. I think I actually really scared the shit out of the toilet lady :-P

What do you have planned for the next year?

I'm gonna work hard in the studio on my solo tracks as well as the Gunz For Hire tracks and enjoy every second of every gig in 2012.
