Scott Attrill - My Year In Hard Dance

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

releasing my second artist album 'Mega' was for sure my biggest achievement of 2009, I was so happy with the reaction, having 'Mixmag' calling it "the best artist album you are likely to hear this year", just left me gobsmacked! Amazing.

What moments will you never forget?

Becoming the first Hard Dance / Tech Dance DJ to play in Milan / Italy was incredible, what a club & crowd too. Also having my second 'tried & tested' track from Judge Jules on BBC Radio 1 was immense. Played lots of great clubs as usual & meet some very cool people. The Riot! events also totally smashed it in London, i will never forget any of those party's as we have been working so hard on the brand the last couple of years.

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

has to be Kidd Kaos, very consistant tracks & very good DJ to boot!!

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

Thats tough, it would be between two people for me, Vandal & Neal Thomas.

What's been your favourite label of the year?

2 favorites, Riot! & Traffic records of course!! closely followed by Trancewarez.

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

i'm going to be biased and say 'Sledgehammer' which is one of my own, i played it alot & it crossed into so many genres.

What's been your favourite event of the year?

Riot! at Matter - the O2 Arena, all of them have been amazing.

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

I turned up at Gatwick airport for a flight, only to arrive & realize after reading my itinery properly that i had got the date wrong!!

What do you have planned for the next year?

to Keep busy writing tunes in the studio, keep DJ'ing as its my life, Keep moving my labels and brands forward - Riot! with the labels & events / merchandise just seems to be turning into this monster thats growing & growing. Traffic has a very cool cult following too. 2010 look out!!
