What's been your biggest achievement of the year?
There has been a few things happen to me this year that I would class as a big achievement in my DJing career, one is definitely seeing my own digital label launch; Ignite Digital Recordings made it's debut release in November with my tune "Ascension Protocol" and this was subsequently picked up by Phil Reynolds and played the following day in his main room set at the Brixton Academy for Hard House Academy 9.... for me it was the dream start to my label, and I hope that we will continue to go from strength to strength over the coming months and years.
What moments will you never forget?
DJing in Durban in December 2009, was definitely my best set of the year.. a 2 hour set and every tune seemed to go down so well, the reaction from the crowd and the feedback reminded me why I love DJing so much! It was also my 1st set there as their new international resident, so it was important to me that it all went without a hitch. I'm already looking forward to my next gig at Traxx! Another moment that I won't forget is Kutski playing "Gear Shift" (Simon Qudos & Technikal) on his Radio 1 show back in June.
Who's been the artist of the year for you?
There has been quite a few, to single any 1 artist out is really hard - Iridium continually delivers high quality tunes, as does Adrenaline Dept.
What's been your favourite label of the year?
Tidy, Impact, Electrik Shandy and of course, I have to mention my own label, Ignite Digital
What do you think has been the best track of the year?
I'm going to be biased here and say Ascension Protocol by myself... favourite tune from another artist though would be "Back 2 The Old Skool" by Technikal
What's been your favourite event of the year?
Storm vs Awsum vs Riot at Emporium in Coalville - it was my first visit to the club and after this night my only disappointment was that I hadn't been to an event there before!
What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?
Haha! Back in February, I was djing at an event in Brisbane, Australia (Fahrenheit), I was told that there was a bottle of Jagermeister behind the decks and to help myself... well, I certainly did that and found out what it truly means to be blind drunk! I couldn't actually read the writing on my cd's! messy was taken to new heights that night... I haven't touched Jager before a set since!
What do you have planned for the next year?
Over the next 12 months I plan to concentrate more on my label and continue to release quality tunes... aside from this, I have recently been signed to Juiced Artist Management and am hoping that they will help me secure some more bookings around the UK as well as further afield.
